2. Creating a view
LiteEXPLORER: How to create a view
Once we've designed the solution and data loading, we are ready to create all the views you need.
When clicking on the solution space over New cube view we will see the next window, where we will select the information cube with which we are going to work, and will give a name to the view.
The LiteEXPLORER tool will allow us to create advanced OLAP reports which enables us to make multidimensional queries about the cubes we have built and store reports.
The operation is very simple, when creating or exploring a view or when exploring a cube, LiteEXPLORER opens, appearing in the left panel the dimensions that make up the cube and that can be used for analysis. This panel has three areas:
-Filters: A dimension that does'nt appear in the view but in which it is possible to select filters (limit the information being displayed). Example: Do not want to see the years in rows or columns, but I want to see data only from 2010.
-Columns: Dimensions I want to see in the cube view as columns.
-Rows: Dimensions I want to see in the cube view as rows.
Once we've understood the concept of these items of the views we can move on and generate as many views as desired, adjusting their settings to our needs.
To generate any view we will have to drag the desired dimensions to the rows or columns. Once we already have a dimension in rows and other in columns, the platform will display the resulting report. This will be a basic report that we will be able to customize with many options.
If the indicators are not selected in the rows or columns, the first one will always be shown(the first of them that is shown in filter), leavining us the option to change it to any other indicator.
